Beijing time on December 4th, 2022, according to media reports, German automaker Audi will increase investment in electric mobility in the next five years, with an investment of up to 35 billion euros (about 42.5 billion U.S. dollars).
Among the above-mentioned investment quotas, about 25 billion euros will be used for electric travel and vehicle electrification transformation, 5 billion euros will be used for hybrid technology, and 5 billion euros will be used for digitalization. At the end of the five-year cycle, Audi will have launched 30 e-portfolio models, 20 of which will be fully battery-powered.
Volkswagen announced in September this year that it will invest 15 billion euros in China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market, after the company has invested a total of 33 billion euros in the global electric vehicle field. Another VW Group subsidiary, Bentley, also announced last month that it would transition its entire range to electric vehicles by 2030.
Audi and VW's investments come as sales of electric vehicles continue to rise. Registrations of new electric cars and plug-in hybrids in Germany reached 28,965 in November, 2022, marking a record high for the third month in a row. VW's rivals are also investing more in electric vehicles. GM will invest $27 billion in electric and autonomous vehicles by 2025 and will launch 30 electric vehicles by 2025.
With the increase in investment and the increase in the use of electric vehicles, supercapacitor batteries have the advantages of fast charging speed, good low temperature characteristics, super high power, super high safety, long life and other advantages. It is expected to replace ordinary batteries on the market and become the power of new energy vehicles.
